Our family has had a wonderful experience with Virginia Ballet. The faculty members have danced with companies professionally, and are keenly aware of the competitive nature of ballet yet still create a familial and supportive atmosphere for serious and recreational dancers alike. It is a joy to see the shaping of caring minds as well as turned out well extended bodies and this is tightrope they have mastered!

This school teaches classic ballet in a very detail oriented, traditional Russian style. If your dancer is committed for the long haul, She or He will be a very good dancer. The Modern/ Contemporary classes are also very good. There was a recent merger of this ballet school with a contemporary school and it has improved the new school by rounding out the training.

My daughter and I both dance at Virginia Ballet Company & School. The teachers are great, the staff welcoming, and the studio truly feels like a supportive family. Students (both children and adults) have various opportunities to perform, and the studio is just a wonderful place to learn and grow through dance!

Incredible ballet studio. Teaches traditional Russian style ballet. Amazing community of students, very supportive. Opportunity to dance in the Nutcracker every December (and more). Great balance of excellent teaching, support, and fun.
