UNCSA Preparatory Dance Program

The UNCSA Preparatory Dance Program (UPDP) is an elite dance school based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Founded in 2002, UPDP provides quality dance instruction to students of all ages and levels. Our mission is to provide the highest quality of dance instruction and performance opportunities in an environment that encourages artistic growth and personal development.

What We Offer

At UPDP, we offer a variety of classes and programs for students of all ages and levels. We offer ballet classes for beginners, intermediate, and advanced levels, as well as jazz and modern dance classes. We also offer private tutoring and workshops for aspiring dancers.

Our Faculty

UPDP is proud to be home to some of the most talented and experienced dance instructors in the area. Our faculty includes professional dancers, choreographers, and teachers who have extensive experience in the field of dance. Our instructors have trained and performed with some of the most renowned dance companies in the world.

Performance Opportunities

At UPDP, we provide our students with the opportunity to perform in a variety of shows and events. We host an annual recital in May, as well as a holiday showcase in December. We also offer our students the opportunity to perform in local and regional competitions and festivals.

Community Outreach

UPDP is committed to giving back to the community. We offer free dance classes to local schools and community centers, as well as scholarships to deserving students. We also partner with local organizations to provide dance workshops and classes for underserved populations.
