The Taos Academy of Dance Arts is an acclaimed dance school located in the beautiful city of Taos, New Mexico. Founded in 1997, the Academy has become a leader in the dance arts, offering a comprehensive curriculum that includes ballet, modern, jazz, hip-hop, tap, and more. The Academy is committed to providing students with the highest quality of instruction in a safe and supportive environment.

History

The Taos Academy of Dance Arts was founded in 1997 by two of the most renowned instructors in the area: Jean-Paul and Yvonne Delacroix. The Delacroixs had long been passionate about dance and wanted to create a space where students could learn, grow, and express themselves through the art of dance. Since then, the Academy has become a leader in the dance arts, offering a comprehensive curriculum that includes ballet, modern, jazz, hip-hop, tap, and more. The Academy has also become a hub for the local dance community, hosting regular performances and workshops with renowned instructors from around the world.

Mission

The mission of the Taos Academy of Dance Arts is to provide the highest quality of instruction in a safe and supportive environment. We strive to create an atmosphere of respect and collaboration between our instructors and our students, and to foster a lifelong love of dance in each of our students. We also believe in the importance of giving back to the community, and we are committed to providing scholarships and outreach programs to underserved populations.

Programs

The Taos Academy of Dance Arts offers a variety of classes for students of all ages and abilities. Our classes are divided into three levels – beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Beginner classes are designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of dance, while intermediate and advanced classes focus on refining technique and exploring more complex movement. We also offer a variety of special classes, such as musical theater, hip-hop, and contemporary, as well as classes for adults.

Faculty

The Taos Academy of Dance Arts is proud to have a faculty of highly experienced and knowledgeable instructors. Our faculty members are all professional dancers and choreographers with extensive experience in their respective fields. We strive to maintain a faculty of diverse backgrounds and specialties in order to provide our students with the best possible instruction.

Performances

The Taos Academy of Dance Arts hosts regular performances throughout the year. Our performances feature our students and faculty members, and are a great way to showcase the hard work and dedication of our students. We also host workshops with renowned instructors from around the world, giving our students the opportunity to learn from the best.
