We absolutely loved our stay here. The location was perfect, the service was wonderful, and the historic home was warm, charming, and full of character. It somehow felt cozy and quiet while also making us feel like we had the entire place to ourselves. Everything was incredibly clean, and you could tell even the smallest details were thoughtfully considered. Such a comfortable and relaxing experience, we would definitely recommend staying here!

We traveled to Gainesville to see several nature sites (Devils Millhopper, wetlands, botanical gardens). SBI was in the perfect location. Though in the city, traffic was almost non-existant while we were there. Sidewalks also let us walk anywhere for restaurants, etc. But the highlight was the SBI property itself. A beautifully kept set of gardens, rooms and areas to relax. The staff was superb…as was breakfast. We will be back, for sure!

What a great secret we discovered in Gainesville. A private retreat a stones throw from downtown. We stayed in the Hawthorne room which was charming, yet up to date. We attended a wedding that was about 30 yards away. There are plenty of cottages, houses, rooms for all your guest for any event. Can’t wait to go back to this hidden treasure!

I stayed at the Sweetwater Inn for a wedding weekend. The buildings are cozy, have historical character, and are clean. Parking on site was easy, and the location is walkable to downtown Gainesville. The breakfast buffet was high quality and had plenty of options. I’d be happy to return for another stay!
