Our History

Raise the Barre Dance Academy was founded in 2005 by professional dancer and choreographer, Tonya Johnson. With over 20 years of experience in the dance industry, Tonya has a passion for teaching and sharing her knowledge with others. She opened the academy with the goal of giving her students the opportunity to learn and grow in the world of dance.

Our Programs

At Raise the Barre Dance Academy, we offer classes for all levels and ages. We offer group classes for children, teens, and adults, as well as private and semi-private lessons. Our classes range from beginner to advanced levels, and include a variety of dance styles, such as ballroom, Latin, hip-hop, jazz, and more.

Our Instructors

Our instructors are highly trained professionals who have a passion for teaching and sharing their knowledge and experience. Our instructors are dedicated to providing a safe and fun learning environment for all of our students. We strive to create an atmosphere of respect and support, and our instructors are always available to answer questions and provide feedback.

Our Facility

Raise the Barre Dance Academy is located in Conover, North Carolina, in a spacious and modern facility. Our facility is equipped with a large dance floor, mirrored walls, and a sound system. We also have a comfortable lounge area for our students to relax and socialize before and after classes.
