The Newport School of Artistic Movement is a dance school located in Newport, Oregon. The school was founded in 1985 by two professional dancers, Robert and Sylvia Johnson. Since then, the school has grown to become a leading provider of dance education in the United States.

Our Mission

At Newport School of Artistic Movement, we strive to provide our students with a comprehensive education in all aspects of dance. We believe that dance is an art form that is best learned through a combination of instruction, practice, and performance. Our goal is to help our students develop their skills and confidence in order to pursue their dreams of becoming professional dancers, choreographers, and teachers.

Our Classes

At Newport School of Artistic Movement, we offer a variety of classes for all levels of experience. Our classes are designed to help students develop their technique, strength, and flexibility, as well as their knowledge of the various styles of dance. We offer classes in ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, contemporary, and more. We also provide classes for those who are interested in pursuing a career in dance, such as audition preparation and choreography.

Our faculty members are all experienced dancers and teachers who have a passion for teaching and inspiring their students. Our Facilities

At Newport School of Artistic Movement, we are proud to offer our students a modern and comfortable facility. Our facility is equipped with a full-size sprung dance floor, a state-of-the-art sound system, and a variety of other amenities. We also offer our students access to a variety of resources, such as a library of dance-related books and videos, as well as a variety of costumes and props.

Newport School of Artistic Movement is open Monday through Friday from 3-9 PM and on Sunday from 3-9 PM. We are closed on Saturdays.
