Beautiful. In my mind, beauty and romance looks very different than ballet. However, every time I witness a show, I am proven wrong. The ballet is beauty and romance and it brings me to tears. So beautiful, you have to admire the training and dedication of all the dancers, and the production. The ballet never fails, it’s a perfect week day event. Get a nice dinner, treat yourself to a show. It’s unforgettable. Balanchine + peck is beautiful.
My boyfriend got me tickets to see The Nutcracker for Christmas and it was the most wonderful gift and performance! I had never been to the ballet before so wasn't sure what to wear, I saw some folks in bow ties and dresses with heels and others in more casual attire. If you're looking for advice mine is to dress comfortable and respectful to the performers. I highly recommend seeing a show, I already can't wait to see another!
Went to see the NYC Ballet production, Classic NYCB II at Lincoln Center last night. It was awesome. Included music in one piece by Michael Nyman, and choreography in another by Jerome Roberts. Both were highlights on a terrific evening. Definitely one of our favorite evenings at NYCB. David H Koch Theater is a terrific venue and we intend to see more NYCB there this season. Such a great company and amazing dancing!
This is not only the best classical dance company in the USA but arguably one of the best in the world. The company excels at Balanchine choreography, the company founder, but also dances new works from Justin Peck and Alexei Ratmansky. The company continues to produce great dancers, making each performance an exciting opportunity to discover an artist interpreting the choreography in new and exciting ways.
