About Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts

The Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts (MCA) is a premier dance school in Winona, Minnesota, offering classes in dance, music, theatre, and visual arts. Located in the beautiful Mississippi River Valley, MCA has been providing quality instruction and performances since 1982.

MCA is committed to providing the highest quality education in the performing and visual arts. Our faculty consists of experienced and dedicated professionals who are passionate about their craft and committed to inspiring students of all ages and abilities. We strive to make the arts accessible to everyone, regardless of their economic background, and offer scholarships and financial assistance to help make the arts accessible to all.

At MCA, we believe that the arts are essential to the development of the whole person. Our goal is to provide students with a comprehensive education in the arts, from the basics of technique to the appreciation of the creative process. We offer classes for all ages and abilities, from beginner to advanced. We also offer professional development opportunities for teachers and artists.

Our Programs

MCA offers a variety of programs and classes in dance, music, theatre, and visual arts. Our dance program includes classes in ballet, modern, jazz, tap, hip hop, and more. We also offer classes in music theory, composition, and performance. Our theatre program includes classes in acting, improvisation, and stagecraft. And our visual arts program includes classes in drawing, painting, and sculpture. We also offer yoga classes and workshops.

Our Facilities

MCA is located in the historic Winona State University campus in Winona, Minnesota. Our facilities include two dance studios, a music studio, a theatre, and an art gallery. The studios are fully equipped with barres, mirrors, and sound systems, and the theatre is equipped with a stage, lighting, and sound systems. The art gallery features a variety of works by local and regional artists.

Our Community

MCA is committed to engaging with our local community. We offer a variety of events and performances throughout the year, such as our annual student recital and our summer dance intensive. We also partner with local schools and organizations to provide arts education programs and performances. We are also proud to be a part of the Winona community and to support the local arts scene.

Our Store

MCA also has a store on-site, offering a variety of dancewear, shoes, props, and accessories. We also offer a variety of books, music, and DVDs for purchase.
