History

The Long Island City School of Ballet was founded in 1989 by former professional dancer and choreographer, Michael J. Kowalczyk. With over 20 years of experience in the dance industry, Kowalczyk was determined to create a school that would provide the highest level of instruction and education to its students.

The school quickly became a respected and recognized institution in the dance community, and in 2003, the school opened its own dance company, the Long Island City Ballet. The company has since performed in numerous venues throughout the United States, including the Metropolitan Opera House, Lincoln Center, and the Joyce Theater.

Faculty and Staff

The Long Island City School of Ballet is home to a highly experienced and dedicated faculty and staff. The faculty consists of former professional dancers and choreographers, as well as experienced teachers. The school is also proud to have been the first to employ a full-time dance therapist to ensure the best possible learning environment for its students.

Programs
