Jose Mateo is obviously the only best ballet school for open adult program In Massachusetts metro Boston area. I take classes here either in the morning or on evening, sometimes if I get energy I will take both because I don’t want to miss to see the real good teacher and the very talented young lady pianist. The intermediate/ advanced class on Saturday morning some times will reach over 40 dancers.

Started ballet as an adult and really like the instructors there. If you have a chance, definitely take a class with Sonja, her instruction is gold and corrections are spot on. Every class I learn tons of really in-depth, thorough material. You all know that as an adult it's hard to get structured material. If you are in the area and want to get better cannot recommend her classes enough.

Jose Mateo Ballet provides a great program for little ones in their Creative Dance I classes. My 3 year old's introduction to ballet was in a beautiful setting within an old church. She loved being able to see some of the older children in their ballet classes. It really encouraged her love for dance and she will be returning this year.

I've been taking adult Open Studio classes here for over 5 years and continue to marvel at the level of instruction, with live piano accompaniment, in the beautiful sanctuary setting—all within minutes of Harvard Square. Not only is Jose Mateo exceptional but surprisingly reasonable. I feel so fortunate to have it within my reach!
