Located in the heart of Oakdale, Louisiana, the Helen Gordon School of Dance has been providing quality instruction in all forms of dance for over 30 years. Founded in 1988 by the late Helen Gordon, a renowned dancer and teacher, the school has grown to become one of the most respected dance schools in the country.

Our Mission

At the Helen Gordon School of Dance, we strive to provide our students with the highest quality instruction in all forms of dance. We are dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing environment where our students can develop their skills and express their creativity. Our goal is to help our students realize their full potential as dancers, while instilling a lifelong appreciation for the art of dance.

Our Philosophy

At the Helen Gordon School of Dance, we believe that dance should be accessible to everyone. We strive to provide a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all of our students, regardless of age, gender, race, or experience level. We strive to foster an appreciation for the beauty and power of movement, while encouraging our students to explore their own unique style and creativity.

Our Programs

The Helen Gordon School of Dance offers a wide range of classes and programs for students of all ages and experience levels. Our classes include ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, contemporary, ballroom, folk, and more. We also offer a variety of specialty classes such as acrobatics, yoga, and Pilates. In addition, we host a variety of workshops and master classes throughout the year.

At the Helen Gordon School of Dance, we are proud to have a staff of highly experienced and dedicated teachers. Our teachers are passionate about teaching and strive to provide our students with the highest quality instruction. All of our teachers have been trained in the latest techniques and have extensive experience in the dance world.

Our Facilities

The Helen Gordon School of Dance is proud to offer our students a state-of-the-art facility. Our facility includes two spacious studios, equipped with sprung floors, full-length mirrors, and a sound system. We also have a comfortable lounge area for students to relax and socialize.
