This location gets 5 stars for the amount of space and amenities, with endless floors, great machines, basketball/squash courts AND a rock climbing wall! Highly recommend classes with Akin, who is very welcoming and you can tell is a seasoned professional – but will really get you to push yourself in the best way! Compared to the other locations the finish is very different. Rather than the ultra-modern, sleek marble accents this is club has a somewhat dated but charming old country club vibe.
Gym is never crowded, always clean. The stuff in the locker room super sweet. Really weird reading the comments now that I've been a member for a little while because I was looking at reviews before signing up and almost didnt go for it bc of them but after visitingdecided to give it a try. The gym is huge and has dedicated areas for boxing, yoga, weights and cardio. Wish the steam room and sauna would get hotter and there were some classes offered at day time but overall cant complain.
I have come here several times to take my friend's Zumba class. The facilities are gorgeous – seven floors of exercise equipment, different studios and rooms for all needs. At any given moment, you can catch a dance class, weight lifting, a boxing class, a basketball game, and take a dip in the pool. This gym feels more like a spa or country club, offering full service showers, sauna, and locker room. Every time I've been here, the experience has been positive.
No other gym in Manhattan has 1/2 the space or machine/weights availability as this location. Staff is always super nice. The people in these reviews have it all wrong–the outdated 80s/90s aesthetic of this place is a feature not a bug. Who doesn't, at least for a few hours a week, want to get in a time machine and sling iron like Patrick Bateman? Who doesn't want to yuck it up about how Japan is the future in the sauna?
