Double Edge Theatre is a performing arts theater located in Ashfield, Massachusetts. Founded in 1982, Double Edge Theatre is committed to creating original, experimental and interdisciplinary theatre that is both inspiring and accessible. The theatre is dedicated to creating a vibrant and collaborative artistic community that celebrates the power of storytelling.

History

Double Edge Theatre was founded in 1982 by co-founders Stacy Klein and Matthew Glassman. The two had previously worked together in the New York City theatre scene and wanted to create a space for experimental theatre. The theatre was originally located in the Bronx, but moved to Ashfield in 1993. Since then, Double Edge has become an integral part of the Ashfield community and has produced over 40 original productions.

The theatre strives to create a vibrant and collaborative artistic community that celebrates the power of storytelling. Programs & Events

Double Edge Theatre hosts a variety of programs and events throughout the year. The theatre offers a range of classes and workshops for people of all ages and abilities. The theatre also hosts an annual Summer Intensive program, which provides a unique opportunity for artists to hone their skills and explore their creative potential in a supportive and nurturing environment. The theatre also hosts a variety of special events and performances throughout the year.

Theatre Space

The theatre is located in a converted barn in Ashfield, Massachusetts. The theatre space includes a main stage, a studio theatre, a rehearsal space, and a café. The theatre features comfortable seating for up to 250 audience members.
