Cumbe was founded in 2004 by Artistic Director and Choreographer, Camille A. Brown. Brown had a vision to create a space where people could come together and celebrate African and Diaspora dance. The school has grown to become an internationally recognized cultural institution, offering classes and events for all ages and skill levels.

Classes and Events

Cumbe offers a wide range of classes and events for all ages and skill levels. The school offers classes in traditional African and Diaspora dance styles such as Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, Haitian, and more. In addition to classes, Cumbe also offers workshops, master classes, and special events.

The school also offers classes for children, including a dance camp for kids ages 4-14. The camp offers classes in African and Diaspora dance styles, as well as workshops in music, art, and more.
