The Black Hills Dance Centre was founded in 1995 by local dance enthusiasts, Anna and Jeff Johnson. After many years of teaching dance in various locations, they decided to open their own school and share their love of dance with the community.

Since its inception, the school has grown and expanded to offer a wide variety of classes, workshops, and events. The school has become a staple in the Spearfish community and is well known for its quality instruction and friendly atmosphere.

The Black Hills Dance Centre offers a wide variety of classes and workshops for all ages and levels. Classes range from beginner to advanced levels and include styles such as Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Ballroom. The school also offers private lessons and group classes for those who are interested.
