Our daughter has taken ballet for three years with Miss Amy at Ballet Kalamazoo. More than her excellent ability to teach her dancers dance skill, we appreciate Miss Amy’s determination to teach the dancers important interpersonal skills and life skills. After her first year, my daughter knew the importance of working as a team, being kind and how important it was to be on time and prepared. My daughter has danced at ballet Kalamazoo and had Mrs. Amy as an instructor since she was 3 years old going on 4.5 years of dancing, my daughter loves ballet more than ever and has learned a tremendous amount when it comes to technique and why ballet dancers do what they do. Amy as an instructor is clearly passionate about ballet and works hard and diligently with her students to foster their love of dance. She is a phenomenal instructor that I, as a parent, would recommend to anyone!

I have danced here from the beginning and I can say that miss Amy Russell is an amazing teacher and businesswoman. She is able to make all of the company’s hard decisions while also helping her dancers feel encouraged and important. I have grown so much because of this company. I’ve recommended this studio to many people looking to dance ballet because there are options for every age and experience level, and we work together to feel like family.

Pre-pandemic, a highlight of my Saturday mornings was the drop-in adult ballet classes at Ballet Kalamazoo. I have also enjoyed watching their company performances over the years. The studio environment is welcoming and the teachers are committed to creating a supportive community and instilling strong technique.
