저는 "Buddha, Sage of the Shakya Clan" 라는 불교 전시를 봤는데, 제 생각보다 정말 짧은 박물관 이였습니다.
Fantastic museum. It doesn't try and encompass all of Asia by any means, but that's a good thing – it doubles down on specific exhibits and really lets individual artists shine, and give you a window into their world. Some really impressive pieces and I also loved the films they were playing in their theatre rooms. Fun gift shop as well. It's not the biggest museum but it's a nice size and it feels like they have a lot of stuff rotating through on the regular.
The Asia Society always has well curated shows. Currently they have a great exhibit entiteld Clouds Stretching a Thousand Miles that includes an intense video installation by Sun Xun not to be missed ! TorsoMan by Huang Yan is also just wow. On the ground floor they have UterusMan a video game / installation by Lunch Yang with an inspiration worth googling. Also the Asia Society gift store merits a visit on it's own right with a great jewelry selection.
I here yesterday for the first time and was greeted immediately with a warm welcome. Sadly only the 3rd floor was open as they were between exhibits and I wasn't charged for entry. The room on the 3rd floor was small but had a lot of high quality artefacts. The gift shop was absolutely amazing, and is definitely worth browsing. Even though it was a short visit, I highly recommend it. The staff in particular are extremely warm and friendly.
