I'm loving this gym and my experience at workshop. The space is intimate and clean, really straightforward with high quality equipment. Brent is an amazing coach who articulates things in a way that my learning challenged dinosaur brain can understand. Gianna is amazing too, she has helped me clean up a lot of sloppy technique and continues to remind me to keep my chin down and guard up. Both coaches are wonderful and patient and create a comfortable, fun environment for everyone.
I've trained with Workshop for two years (mostly BJJ), and both Gianna and Jin are fantastic, patient and motivating coaches. Starting a new sport after 40 can feel intimating, but if you ever wanted to try martial arts – Workshop is the place to do it! I tried a couple of other schools before discovering Workshop, and it was definitely love from the first sight. Classes are always fun, challenging and very safe. Oh, and goes without saying – the place is always impeccably clean!
Workshop was a place that revealed to me the depth of combat, and new awareness of self. What also made it a joy, was the rare opportunity to watch those who apply an unordinary level of focus and attention to their craft. With all the deficits that accompany you when starting past your most energetic age, wrapped with my own unique challenges as a student, I was met with generosity, patience, and a standard of quality that will be staying with me.
I signed up for the Muay Thai classes at Workshop NYC. Coach Brent’s class was informative and fun. Open level class will meet your needs regardless if your trying to get a good workout or to improve your skills. Advanced class is great for anyone looking to take their skills to the next level. Staff was very welcoming and facilities was very clean. I would highly recommend to anyone interested in Muay Thai or an excellent workout.
