My kid's experience at Child's Play has been wonderful. During 7th grade, in the midst of the pandemic, she took the Shakespeare class online. It was engaging, educational and the final product, all done remotely, was amazing. In 8th grade, she was coached by Emily Stout for HS Drama auditions. Emily helped my kid choose monologues, worked weekly on technique, encouraged her, and recorded the final video. All this helped her get into her first choice of Frank Sinatra High School of the Arts!

Our son has really enjoyed the various Child's Play programs – classes, day-long and week-long camps. The teachers have all been wonderfully creative, connected, and inspiring. It seems like one of those programs where the theoretical/abstract side of what they're trying to do is really working. I love the ways that imagination is integrated into games, storytelling, and art-making – he really comes away with richer, sillier (in a good way), broader ideas for how to express himself.

We're big fans of the Child's Play classes and summer camps. This experience sparks a lot of creativity and a new kind of presence in kids. Since her involvement with the program, my kiddo has developed a real love for imaginative story telling, other world creating, and top of her lungs singing. It's amazing to see how her one hour a week experience carries over to her play and interactions throughout the week. Child's Play has had a huge impact!

Child's Play NY is a wonderful program that gives children the confidence to try new and intimidating challenges. Their love for the theater and for their students is palpable. The final production while impressive in scope and the effort these young actors put in, but the process was so thoughtful and engaging that it felt like not work at all but fun. A wonderful group of teaching artists run this fabulous program lead by Jocelyn and Emily.
