About Helen Tilton Kearney

Helen Tilton Kearney was a professional dancer and teacher who had a passion for teaching and sharing her love of dance with others. She was born in New York City and began her dance training at the age of five. She went on to study at the prestigious Juilliard School of Music and the American Ballet Theatre School. She also studied with some of the greatest dancers of her time, including Martha Graham, George Balanchine, and Agnes de Mille.

Helen Tilton Kearney was a pioneer in the field of dance education and was one of the first to introduce the concept of a dance school in South Carolina. She believed in the importance of teaching proper technique and form and was an advocate for the health and safety of her students.
