History

Tartan Hearts School of Scottish Highland Dance was founded in 2005 by the late Mary-Anne MacKenzie. Mary-Anne was a passionate dancer who had been competing in Scottish Highland dance events since she was a young girl. She was a champion dancer in her own right, and she wanted to share her love of the art form with others.

The school started out as a small, local dance school in Sacramento, but it quickly grew in popularity and began to attract students from all over the United States. Today, Tartan Hearts School of Scottish Highland Dance is one of the most respected and well-known schools of its kind in the country.

Mission Statement

The mission of Tartan Hearts School of Scottish Highland Dance is to provide a safe and fun environment for students of all ages to learn and appreciate the art of Scottish Highland dance. We strive to teach our students the importance of hard work, dedication, and respect for the traditions of the art form.
