The American Academy of Ballet (AAB) is a world-renowned dance company based in New York City. Founded in 1992, AAB is dedicated to providing excellence in the art of classical ballet and has become a leader in the field.
The American Academy of Ballet was founded in 1992 by the late director and choreographer, Robert Joffrey. Joffrey, a master teacher and choreographer, was a pioneer in the field of ballet and was the first American to be awarded the prestigious Prix de Lausanne in 1971.
The AAB is dedicated to providing excellence in the art of classical ballet. The company has become a leader in the field, performing a wide range of classical and contemporary works. The American Academy of Ballet offers a variety of programs for students of all ages and levels. Our programs include classes in classical ballet, pointe, variations, pas de deux, contemporary, modern, jazz, and hip-hop. We also offer specialized programs such as our Pre-Professional Program, which is designed to prepare students for a career in professional dance.
The American Academy of Ballet is proud to have an outstanding faculty of professional dancers and teachers. Our faculty members are highly experienced and have trained and performed with some of the world’s leading dance companies. Our faculty is dedicated to providing a supportive and inspiring learning environment for our students.
The American Academy of Ballet is committed to presenting high-quality performances of classical and contemporary works. We have performed at prestigious venues such as the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, the Metropolitan Opera House, and the Joyce Theater. We also host an annual Spring Performance, which features original works by our faculty and students.
