The Grand Central Academy of Performing Arts (GCAPA) is a dance school, ballet school, children’s theater, dance company, drama school, gymnastics center, hip hop dance class, performing arts group, performing arts theater, and physical fitness program located in Cornelius, North Carolina. Founded in 2004, GCAPA has grown to become one of the most respected and well-known performing arts academies in the United States.

History

GCAPA was founded in 2004 by husband and wife team, John and Kim Smith. John and Kim had a passion for the performing arts and wanted to create a safe and nurturing environment for children and adults to learn and grow. With their combined experience in the performing arts, they opened GCAPA in a small studio in Cornelius, North Carolina.

Since then, GCAPA has grown to become one of the most respected and well-known performing arts academies in the United States. The school has become a popular destination for aspiring dancers, actors, and acrobats of all ages and abilities. GCAPA offers a variety of classes and workshops that cater to all levels of experience, from beginners to professionals.

Faculty

GCAPA is proud to have some of the best instructors in the country. Our faculty is composed of highly experienced and certified professionals who have extensive experience in their respective fields. Our instructors are passionate about teaching and are dedicated to helping each student reach their full potential.

Programs

GCAPA offers a variety of programs for children and adults of all ages and abilities. Our programs include dance classes, ballet classes, children’s theater, dance company, drama school, gymnastics center, hip hop dance classes, performing arts group, performing arts theater, and physical fitness program.

Our dance classes include ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, and more. We also offer classes for children and adults in musical theater, acrobatics, and physical fitness. Our programs are designed to help students develop their skills, build confidence, and grow as performers.

Events

GCAPA hosts a variety of events throughout the year. We host performances, workshops, and classes for our students and the community. Our events are designed to provide a platform for our students to showcase their talents and gain exposure to the performing arts.
