Absolutely fun place to learn West Coast Swing. The instructors are extremely talented and excellent instructors. The dance floor is in great condition and they have nice sound system. The leader to follower balance in the group lessons are very good. I highly recommend Big Apple Ballroom for anyone who is interested to learn how to dance West Coast Swing and those who want to elevate their West Coast Swing dancing to the next level.
Big Apple Ballroom is such a great studio – the space is beautiful, well-maintained, and feels welcoming from the moment you walk in. The instruction is incredibly clear and structured, which makes it easy to improve quickly. I’ve taken cha cha, bachata, salsa, and swing, and each class has been high-energy, supportive, and genuinely fun. I’ve learned a ton through a mix of group classes and a 1:1 lesson. Highly recommend!
I took a lot of West Coast Swing dance classes while visiting NYC in January. I went to a few different studios and Big Apple Ballroom was my favorite! The instructors Mike and Geoff were great at running a group class. I also ended up making friends at the West Coast Swing social dance on Monday nights! BONUS: There is an adorable DOGGIE. Her name is Leia and she can dance too!! I love her and I respect her.
My 3-1/2 year old “heart of heart” (granddaughter) just had the most fun at at Rachel Baird’s 3 year old dance trial dance class at the Big Apple Ballroom, right in Chelsea.
