Smooth dances include the Westchester Foxtrot, Magic Step Foxtrot, Viennese and Slow Waltz, and Traditional Polka. To enhance versatility, you will dance not only to ‘ballroom’ music but also to Pop, Country Western, Rock, and Big Band runes. Emphasis is placed on proper distinctive dance styling, leading and following techniques, and dance/music distinction. The last class will be a graduation dance. No experience is necessary. | Latin Dances Learn the basics of the hottest Latin dances around, including three rhythms of the Cha Cha, Mambo, Bossa Nova, Merengue, Rhumba, Salsa, Tango, and several varieties of the Latin Swing. You will dance not only to traditional Latin ‘ballroom’ music, but also to Country Western, Salsa, Techno, and Latin Pop tunes. Emphasis is placed on proper distinctive dance styling, leading and following techniques, and dance/music distinction. Designed for the beginning dancer, but class moves fast. | Learn the basics of up to 17 of the most popular Country Western couple and partner dances performed across the nation. Single, Double, and Triple Rhythms of the Texas Two-Step, Three-Step, Schottische, Texas Ten-Step Polka, Waltz and the Cotton-Eyed Joe, Latin Two-Step, and Progressive Country. Emphasis will be made in proper dance styling, leading and following techniques, dance/music distinction and the development of dance move amalgamations. Beginning through advanced level moves and twirls will be taught using the ‘Dance Move Building Block’ method. No experience necessary. The last class will be a graduation dance .. | Country Western Partner Dancing NEW There are over 500 different country western partner dances including the Cotton-Eyed Joe, Sweetheart Schotticshe, Belle Starr, 16-Step Polka, and Southland Waltz. The class moves fast so come prepared to learn and do lots of dancing. Proper country western partner dance style, technique and etiquette are taught along with lots of move variations and combinations. The last night will be a graduation dance.
