Founded in 2006, the Ensemble strives to promote the beauty and grace of classical ballet in the New England region. The Ensemble consists of a professional ballet company, a pre-professional training program, and an extensive outreach program.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Methuen Ballet Ensemble is to promote the beauty and grace of classical ballet in the New England region. We strive to provide quality dance education and performance opportunities to our students and the community.

History

The Methuen Ballet Ensemble was founded in 2006 by professional dancer and choreographer, Elizabeth Methuen. Elizabeth was a principal dancer with the Boston Ballet and had a long and successful career as a dancer and choreographer. When she retired from the stage, she wanted to continue to share her love of ballet with the community.

Elizabeth opened the Methuen Ballet Ensemble in Salem, New Hampshire. The Ensemble quickly grew to include a professional ballet company, a pre-professional training program, and an extensive outreach program.

Professional Ballet Company

The Methuen Ballet Ensemble’s professional ballet company is comprised of some of the finest dancers in the region. The company performs a variety of classical and contemporary ballets throughout the year. The company is committed to providing quality entertainment to its audiences.

Pre-Professional Training Program

The Methuen Ballet Ensemble’s pre-professional training program is designed to prepare young dancers for a professional career in ballet. The program is open to dancers ages 9-18 and provides comprehensive training in classical ballet technique, pointe work, and choreography.

Outreach Program

The Methuen Ballet Ensemble’s outreach program is dedicated to bringing the joy of ballet to the community. The program offers free ballet classes to local schools and community centers and provides scholarships to students who cannot afford to take classes. The program also offers performances and lectures to local organizations and schools.
